Connecting your computer to TA200 Adapter

These instructions will show you the quick guides on using the basic configurations of TA200 ATA Adapter. With the Internet access, you can get more information on configuration. You will be able to set up the configuration as below:

Step 1

Connect the RJ-45 networking cable to the input port with the label “WAN” on the back of TA200 ATA Adapter. Then, connect the other end of the same cable to Ethernet Port of your broadband modem. It can be a cable or ADSL modem which provided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider).

After that, connect a 2nd RJ-45 networking cable to the port with the label “LAN” on the back of TA200 Adapter then to your computer’s network interface, kindly refer to your computer’s instruction manual for assistance on how to locate its network interface.

Connect one end of the RJ-11 (telephone cord) to the Port with the label “Phone 1” on the back of TA200 Adapter. Then, connect the other end of the same telephone cord to an analog telephone.

Connect one end of the RJ-11 (telephone cord) to the Port with the label “Phone 2” on the back of TA200 Adapter. Then, connect the other end of the same telephone cord to an analog telephone.

Connect the Power Adapter Plug to the Power Jack on the back of TA200 device. Then, connect the AC Plug end of the Power Adapter to an electrical wall outlet.

Once ok, you have done the installation for all interfaces to the TA200 Adapter.

Type the http://192.168.10.1 to access the configuration page of TA200 Adapter.

Your TA200 Adapter is configured and will request an Internet Protocol (IP) Address from your Broadband service provider and also a local IP address to your PC (DHCP Server). Please make sure that the Ethernet connection of your PC (Local Area Connection (LAN) or Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)) is configured to obtain IP address automatically.

Step by Step on Configuring PPPoE Settings

The instruction below will show you the procedures on how to setup TA200 Adapter. Kindly connect your computer to TA200 Adapter ‘LAN’ port to do configuration.

Step 1

Open a web browser and type http://192.168.10.1. Key in the default values: Username: admin, Password: admin.

At the main page, choose ‘WAN/LAN Configuration’ tab to complete the WAN Interface Configuration.

  1. Select ‘PPPoE’
  2. Key in the ‘Login’ and ‘Password’ of your ISP (Internet Service Provider) ADSL or Broadband.
  3. Key in the Primary and Secondary DNS server address. (Kindly refer to your ISP)
  4. Click ‘Update’ to save the setting.

For the ‘IP Address Assignment’ setting, 3 connection types are provided under the drop-down menu. Each setup screen and the features will vary depending on which type of connection you select.

Internet Configuration Type

PPPoE

PPPoE: PPPoE (Point-to-Point over Ethernet) setting is the most popular used for DSL modem. Key in the Username and Password which follow the same as DNS supplied by your ISP provider.

DHCP

DHCP: The default setting for the router, DHCP is the most popular used for cable modem. There is no configuration required for this setting as the ISP supplies the information automatically.

Static

Static: Allows user to set its own fixed IP address. Quite commonly used for ISP especially those provide only static IP address. If your ISP assign you a static IP address, then complete the ‘Static IP’.

Step 3

After clicking ‘Update’ , you will get the screen as below, click ‘Reset’ to save the setting.

Step 4

After reset, the TA200 Adapter device will save and reboot, please wait roughly 20 seconds or press ‘Main Page’ in order to go back to the ‘Unit Information’.

You will get an WAN IP address displayed at ‘Unit Information’.

Step 6

Your TA200 has connected to internet successfully.

Step 7

If you are not be able to hear the dial tone when pickup the mobile phone within 5 minutes, then please press “***2” to download the configuration file. Place back the mobile phone after you heard the “Tut” sound. At this time, please wait another 5 minutes prior to making the next call.

OR You can also access to TA200 Maintenance configuration page and then select ‘Download Configuration File’. Click on ‘Submit Request’ button to save the setting.

Step by Step on Configuring DHCP Settings

The instruction below will show you the procedures on how to setup TA200 Adaptor. Kindly connect your computer to TA200 Adaptor ‘LAN’ port to start configuration.

Step 1

Open a web browser and key in http://192.168.10.1. Key in the default values: Username: admin, Password: admin.

At the main page, choose ‘WAN/LAN Configuration’ tab to complete the WAN Interface Configuration.

  1. Select ‘DHCP’
  2. Key in the Primary and Secondary DNS server address. (Kindly refer to your ISP)
  3. Click ‘Update’ to save the setting.

Step 3

After clicking ‘Update’, you will get the screen below, then click ‘Reset’ to save the setting.

Step 4

After reset, the TA200 ATA Adapter device will save and reboot, please allow to wait roughly 20 seconds or press ‘Main Page’ to go back to the ‘Unit Information’.

You will get an WAN IP address displayed at ‘Unit Information’.

Step 6

Your TA200 has connected to internet successfully.
